Results of the competition organized by the Ural State University of Architecture and Art (USUAA) in partnership with the Games Directorate were announced at the Ural Design Center.
University students have been working on the concepts of the territorial zoning of the Games Park as part of their studies for three months (The Park will be located at the Historical Square in Ekaterinburg - note Ekat2023). The final presentation and evaluation of the projects by the jury was held a week before the results were announced.
The competition concluded with the victory of USUAA students Elena Kozlova, Anna Burkova, and Tatyana Golmakova and their project «The Meeting Place». The second place was awarded to the project by Alena Yagodina, Elvira Zimagulova, and Mariya Drozhaschih. The third place went to the work of Ulyana Sheshukova, Anastasia Pilyasova, and Irina Shiryaeva.
Contestants who won top spots were awarded tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as to the Games' competitions. USUAA and the Games Directorate have awarded several entries in special nominations.
General Director of the Executive Directorate of the Games Alexander Chernov was present at the ceremony. He gave his thanks to the students and congratulated them on the competition's conclusion. According to Chernov, the submitted works clearly demonstrate Ekaterinburg's creative potential. They will definitely be taken into account and will help to create the Park that all guests of the 2023 FISU World University Games will always remember.
